Police: 12 Arrested On DWI Charges At Memorial Day Checkpoint In Patchogue

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Twelve people were arrested last night at a sobriety checkpoint in Suffolk County.

Police said the arrests were made at a sobriety checkpoint on Waverly Avenue in Patchogue between 11:10 p.m. and 3:20 a.m. Friday night into early Saturday morning.

The 12 arrested are now facing DWI charges.

The checkpoint is part of Suffolk County police efforts to crack down on drunk driving through the Memorial Day weekend holiday.
