Police: Burglars Targeted ATMs At Multiple Ridgewood, Queens Businesses

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Tuesday were searching for two suspects in a string of burglaries targeting ATMs in Ridgewood, Queens.

Police said the burglaries happened between Feb. 27 and April 26 at the following specific times and locations:

• Around 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, two men cut the locks to a roll-down metal gate at the business at 466 Woodward Ave. in Queens, police said. Once inside, they broke into an ATM and took cash and also took 40 cartons of cigarettes and $600 from the register, police said. Police obtained surveillance video from that incident.

• Around 3 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, unknown suspects pried through the rear door at 803 Cypress Ave. and broke into the ATM, police said. They took $17,380, police said. The surveillance camera at the business was damaged and the tape was removed, police said.

• Sometime between 8 p.m. Sunday, April 10 and 7 a.m. Monday, April 11, two suspects cut the locks to the metal doors at 2042 Grove St., police said. They broke into the ATM and took $17,840, police said.

• Between 11 p.m. Monday, April 18, and 6:05 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, the suspects got in through a basement door at 62-86 60th Pl., police said. They damaged the ATM and took $15,670, police said.

• Between 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, April 26 and noon on Wednesday, April 27, the suspects entered 853 Wyckoff Ave., damaged the ATM and took $15,670, police said.
