Watch: Girl Cries 'Tears Of Joy' After Receiving American Girl Doll With Prosthetic Leg

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A video of a 10-year-old girl receiving an American Girl doll with a prosthetic leg to match her own has been viewed more than 10 million times on Facebook.

The video, posted by Courtney Bennett with the caption "Tears of joy," shows her daughter Emma shouting, "You got to be kidding me,'' before hugging the doll and breaking down into tears.

"It's got a leg like me," Emma exclaims in the video.

Emma uses a prosthetic leg because of a birth defect, CBS-affiliate KHOU-TV reported. Her mother told the station Emma always wanted a doll that looked like her.

Courtney Bennett mentions in the video that she sent the doll to a company, A Step Ahead Prosthetics, to have it outfitted with a prosthetic limb.

"Thank you for making a doll like me," Emma says in the video, addressing the company.

The New York-based company called the video "incredibly moving."

It said parents send them the American Girl dolls and they modify them with prosthetics for free for little girls with limb loss.

"Our philosophy is that these dolls can have a profound effect on the self-esteem and sense of inclusion of little girls with limb loss, and in that spirit we wouldn't feel right about asking people to pay for them," the company wrote on its Facebook page.

Those wishing to make a donation to help get dolls for children whose families can't afford them should visit www.onestepaheadfoundation.org.
