CBS2 To Air Broadway.com Tony Awards Preview Saturday Evening

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- CBS2 will broadcast a half-hour special previewing the 70th Annual Tony Awards on Saturday evening.

The special, which will air on CBS2 at 7 p.m. Saturday, is being produced by Broadway.com and will be hosted by site senior editor Imogen Lloyd Weber.

The program will focus on the Tony-nominated productions for Best Musical, Best Play, Best Musical Revival and Best Play revival. It will also feature behind-the-scenes interviews with the creative teams and actors nominated for 2016 Tony Awards.

Viewers will see video coverage of rehearsals and opening nights, as well as sit-down interviews with the stars and creative teams from the musicals "Hamilton," "Shuffle Along," "She Loves Me," "Bright Star," "The Color Purple," "School of Rock," "Waitress," "Fiddler on the Roof," and "Spring Awakening" and the plays "The Humans," "Long Day's Journey Into Night," "Eclipsed," "A View from the Bridge," "King Charles III," "Noises Off," "The Crucible", "Blackbird," and "The Father."

In addition to CBS2, "Broadway.com Presents At The Tonys with Imogen Lloyd Webber" will also air on CBS stations in 15 other markets on Saturday and Sunday.

The 70th Annual Tony Awards will air live on CBS from the Beacon Theatre on Sunday at 8 p.m. Tony Award winner and "Late Late Show" host James Corden will host the awards show for the first time.
