PORT JEFFERSON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A stranded rafter floating in the water for several days was rescued off the shores of Long Island on Tuesday.

According to officials, an off-duty Coast Guard official rescued the man, who was stranded in a small inflatable raft off the coast of Port Jefferson in the Long Island Sound, at around 9:30 a.m.
