NYPD: Woman Violently Beaten In Attempted Rape Attack In Queens
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are searching for a suspect who violently beat a women in an attempted rape attack in Queens last month.
According to police, a a 33-year-old woman was walking near 42nd Avenue and Warren Street in the Corona section of Queens on May 31 when a man grabbed her by the throat and demanded that she take him to her apartment.
When she refused and tried to fight him off, the man punched her several times in the face and stomach before sexually assaulting her, police said.
The suspect fled after the victim began screaming for help, police said.
The NYPD describes the suspect as a 5'5" Hispanic man, last seen wearing a checkered shirt and dark-colored pants.
