Police Search For Teen Who Escaped Custody In Crown Heights

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD is looking for an escaped prisoner in Crown Heights.

A 16-year-old boy escaped custody while being processed through District 32 in the 77th Precinct at 960 Carroll St.

Police were searching the area around Franklin Ave and Carroll Street.

The suspect has been identified as Rhamar Perkins. He is described as a black teen with brown eyes and curly black hair, who was last seen wearing green Army fatigue shorts, a white tank top, and white and blue sneakers without laces.

There was no word Monday, on why the teen was in custody, or the nature of his escape.
