Police: Suspect Attacked Man, 75, On Busy 14th Street While Woman Served As Lookout

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police were searching late Tuesday for two suspects in an attacked on a 75-year-old man outside of the Salvation Army New York headquarters on 14th Street Wednesday afternoon.

Police were called at 2:12 p.m. to 120 W. 14th St., the Salvation Army Greater New York Division headquarters. Police said one suspect, a man, punched the victim in the back of the head and knocked him to the ground, and then kicked him in the face and rendered him unconscious on the street, police said.

A second suspect, a woman, stood by as a lookout, police said.

The suspects both fled east on 14th Street, police said.

The victim suffered a cut to the head and was taken to Norrthwell Health Lenox Hill Hospital, where his condition was reported as stable.

The suspect who attacked the man was described as a black male with black hair with a red streak in it. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, beige pants and a black and gray backpack.

The lookout was described as a black female who was last seen wearing a green dress with a hood over her head, and black sneakers.
