7/23 CBS2 Saturday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Matt DeLucia
CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good afternoon, folks! Another steamy day out there as temps reach the mid and upper 90s across the region. We're expecting a high of 96 in Central Park, which would make this the hottest day so far this year and the first official heat wave for the city. The plus side is the dew points will actually be dropping into this evening, so it won't feel as oppressive as it could. But either way, hot is hot right?!

Mostly clear skies overnight as temps drop into the 70s for NYC metro and 60s in the suburbs. Tomorrow will be another sunny day with temps in the low to mid 90s. Monday looks like it'll be the worst of the heat, as temps soar into the mid 90s. Unlike today, the humidity will be high making it feel more like the low to mid 100s at times! There is also a storm chance Monday as we head into the afternoon and evening and some may be on the strong side.

The heat continues right through mid week with temps in the low 90s and plenty of sunshine. By late week, we'll be "cooler" in the upper 80s. Stay safe this weekend, and remember to stay hydrated and limit your time outdoors during peak heating. Stay cool!
