Report: Bronx Restaurant Owner Shot After Refusing Service To Drunk Customer

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- The co-owner of a Bronx restaurant says a drunken customer shot and injured his business partner after being refused service.

Gustavo Ramirez tells the New York Daily News Saturday the suspect pulled a gun after being denied more drinks.

Police say 52-year-old Mario Ramirez was shot in the chest and neck at the El Rey de Copas Restaurant in the borough's Allerton neighborhood early Friday.

He was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition.

The injured man's brother tells the newspaper that Ramirez, a married father of three, underwent two surgeries.
