Police: Man With Gun Talked About Wanting To 'Off Some Cops' At Port Authority Bus Terminal

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man was arrested with a gun at the Port Authority Bus Terminal Wednesday night, and he allegedly talked about killing a police officer.

Around 8:35 p.m., police at the bus terminal arrested the 18-year-old Florida man after he allegedly made threats against the officers at the facility, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

A police source said a good Samaritan reported the suspect to Port Authority police. The good Samaritan said the man had asked him if he wanted to "off some cops" and claimed he had a gun in his bag.

The man never directly confronted or threatened any officers, police said.

Police received a warrant from the Manhattan District Attorney's office, searched the bag, and found a fully-loaded revolver, law enforcement sources said.

The man, whose name was not released, was charged with illegal possession of a firearm, terroristic threats and unlawful possession of marijuana.

He was being held late Wednesday at the bus terminal and was to appear in Manhattan Criminal Court.
