Officials: 15 Firefighters Treated For Heat Exhaustion In Jersey City Fire
JERSEY CITY, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Fifteen firefighters were injured battling a blaze in Jersey City Wednesday morning.
Investigators say the fire started in an electrical outlet on the top floor and then spread, CBS2 reported.
With heavy fire conditions and hot and humid temperatures, eight firefighters had to be taken to the hospital for heat exhaustion. Officials say their injuries are not critical.
The building houses stores on the bottom floor and apartments above.
No other injuries were reported.
