Donald Trump Ready To Clarify Immigration Policy

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The presidential candidates have just 10 weeks left to make their case to voters as it appears Hillary Clinton is losing some ground, but remains far ahead of Donald Trump.

CBS2's Dick Brennan reported this comes as Trump is now ready to clarify his immigration policy – a tricky political move for him. On one hand, it's at the core of his message to conservatives. On the other hand, he does not want to alienate moderates who may not be comfortable with some of his rhetoric.

Trump said he is ready with his immigration speech and will deliver it Wednesday in Arizona. He's recently softened language about deporting the estimate 11 million undocumented immigrants in the U.S.

"I think that he has been very clear on this. We're not going to have amnesty. What we're going to do is to get those who are breaking the law out of the country as quickly as possible," New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said.

Clinton is fundraising in New York Monday, but last week, she said Trump had a history of discrimination.

"I think we all remember when Trump said a distinguished federal judge born in Indiana could not be trusted to do his job because quote, 'He's a Mexican,'" Clinton said.

In other news, the FBI is investigating foreign hackers who breached election databases in Arizona and Illinois. It issued a flash bulletin warning one state was breached in July, as the other one was breached earlier this month.

The FBI is requesting each state check its voter databases.

"In the case of Illinois, which is the more serious one, there was exfiltration, or theft of data from up to 200,000 voters," said Michael Isikoff, Yahoo's chief investigative correspondent.

The Illinois Board of Elections confirmed hackers took some voters' information, including addresses and partial Social Security numbers, but they said they have increased security measures.

This raises worries about a possible cyber-threat to elections.
