Man Brought Loaded Gun To JFK In Carry-On, Police Say

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A man was arrested Tuesday after police said he brought a loaded gun to John F. Kennedy International Airport in his carry-on.

Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police arrested Matthew Crouse, 42, of Alexandria, Virginia, after screening officers at JFK found he had a loaded Glock 19 pistol with 15 rounds, police said.

Crouse was taken into custody without incident, police said.

The gun was found in the suspect’s carry-on bag via X-ray as it moved along the conveyer belt at the security checkpoint, police said.

Crouse was charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
