9/7 CBS2 Wednesday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis

We're saying our goodbyes this afternoon to what's left of Hermine. She'll manage to throw a few more showers our way, but that's about as exciting as it will get. And we should even see more breaks, especially west of the city, so it should warm into the low to mid 80s with more humid conditions in place. And down the shore, it will be more of the same with some rough surf and the potential for dangerous rip currents.

With the exception of some leftover showers east, we should see a little more in the way of clearing tonight. Temps will fall into the low 70s or so by daybreak with humid conditions still in place.

The heat will really start to build tomorrow as we tap into a warmer air mass. So, expect a hot one with a high of about 90° and a "feels-like" temp in the mid-90s. Also, a spot shower or storm can't be ruled out.

Our temps look to peak on Friday as we soar into the low 90s. And with the humidity still kind of high, feels like temps in the mid to upper 90s will be in reach.

As for Saturday, it will remain hot with just a slight chance of a shower or storm. Highs will be near 90° again.
