Search On For Man Who Took Upskirt Photos In Williamsburg Subway Station

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police were searching Wednesday for a man who took upskirt photos of a woman in a Williamsburg, Brooklyn subway station.

Police said around 4:40 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, the man was seen using his cellphone to take photos or record video of under the skirt of a 32-year-old woman as she walked up the stairs to the Manhattan-bound L Train platform at the Lorimer Street station, police said.

The woman turned around when she felt the man's cellphone touch the back of her right leg, police said.

The man then fled down the stairs to the outbound L Train platform and got onto a Canarsie/Rockaway-bound train, police said.

The woman was not injured.

The suspect was described as a black male in his mid-20s, standing 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 145 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored baseball cap, a white tank top, and black shorts and he was carrying a black backpack. He has tattoos on both arms, police said.

Police released a surveillance photo of the suspect that was taken before the incident.
