Chazz Palminteri Of 'A Bronx Tale' Helping Raise Money For Italian Earthquake Victims

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Actor and writer Chazz Palminteri is busy these days getting his show, "A Bronx Tale: The Musical," ready for Broadway.

It opens in previews Nov. 3 at the Longacre Theatre. But he's not so busy that he can't take time out to help raise money for the victims of this past summer's earthquake in central Italy.

"Everybody's got to pitch in and try to help," Palminteri told 1010 WINS' Carol D'Auria. "And I'm an Italian-American and I'm very proud of that, and that's what we want to do.

"I think that's what we do as human beings. I think that we try to help each other."

The fundraiser will be Oct. 6 at the Italian American Museum in Little Italy. The money likely will be used to restore an artifact of important historical significance that was damaged in the quake.
