Hatchet Wielding Suspect Tackles Woman, Takes Off With Purse In Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A woman in Queens was attacked and robbed by a man with a hatchet.

Police said it happened at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, near Woodside Ave and Roosevelt Ave. The 23-year-old victim was approached from behind by a man with a hatchet, dragged to the ground, and robbed.

The suspect took-off northbound on 64th Street with the victim's bag in hand. He has been described as a Hispanic or white male, between 25 and 30 years of age, 5'6" 145-lbs, with light complexion, and was last seen wearing black shoes with red shoe laces, a black baseball cap, and a black jacket.
