De Blasio On Probes Into His Office: Clinton Has Gone Through 'More Investigations Than I Can Count'

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Asked about the investigations involving his office, Mayor Bill de Blasio on Thursday made reference to Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton having gone through "more investigations than I can count."

As WCBS 880's Peter Haskell reported, Mayor de Blasio is a frequent surrogate for Clinton, but one could bet the mayor's comments did not come from her campaign.

When asked about investigations into his office, de Blasio said such things are inevitable.

"The next President of the United States has gone through more investigations than I can count," he said.

De Blasio and a friendly nonprofit are being investigated by a state ethics panel.

"(The state Joint Commission on Public Ethics) is on a fishing exhibition as working well beyond their jurisdiction," de Blasio said.

De Blasio said his Campaign for One New York will respond to subpoenas.
