New York (CBSNewYork) CBSNewYork.com and 1010 WINS have teamed up with Animal Care Centers of New York City to let you know about some of the adoptable animals looking for loving homes in the city’s shelters, and, where ACC’s mobile adoption units are headed with even more great pets.
This week, we’re featuring Riley, Kylo Ren and Corri as week’s “candidates” in ACC’s special “Race To The Right House” campaign, where you can “elect to adopt” a furry family member for just a $20.16 adoption fee still applies for all animals 6 months and older.
Riley (A1087193) “Riley is a sweet, affectionate and mellow fellow,” writes his foster mom. “He loves nothing more than to hang out at home with you. If you wander off to another room for too long, he will join you. Didn’t hear him come in? He is so quiet at home that his nickname is Ninja Puppy. But there is no hiding his love for attention, and he will occasionally come over just to say ‘hi,’ putting his head on your leg for a petting, or putting his front legs on either side of you for a giant hug. But watch out: sometimes he rolls on his back, letting you know that what he really wants is a belly rub.” Riley also got along well with the two cats in his foster home! Meet and elect to adopt this adorable, approximately nine-month-old pup at ACC’s Manhattan Care Center, 326 E. 110th Street.
Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the only open-admissions animal shelter in New York City and takes in approximately 30,000 animals every year. ACC’s three Care Centers in Manhattan (326 East 110th Street), Brooklyn (2336 Linden Boulevard), and Staten Island (3139 Veterans Road West) are open for adoptions 12pm-8pm Monday thru Friday, and 10am-6pm Saturdays and Sundays.
Kylo Ren (A1087220) An ACC volunteer writes that Kylo Ren has “a very determined personality,” but this cutie is far from the Dark Side. “This little guy is very curious — he wants to sniff and chin everything in his path…. Kylo Ren’s delicate looks are deceiving — he’s actually quite a brave soul.” Meet Kylo, who’s about 14 months old, at ACC’s Manhattan Care Center, 326 E. 110th Street.
If you’re interested in one of the animals featured here, email ACC’s Adoption team at firstname.lastname@example.org with the animal’s name and “A#”, or head directly to the Care Center where the animal is located. Please note, animals featured here may already be placed by the time you arrive, but there are hundreds of great cats, dogs, and rabbits looking for loving homes every day! You can view available animals online, and at the Care Centers, ACC Adoption Counselors will help you find the best match.
Corri (A1081136) Adorable Corri has been campaigning for the “Right House” for three months. This sweet and petite, approximately 15-month-old feline may be a little timid, but she definitely appreciates attention. “Chat her up a bit, and let her sniff your hand, and wouldn’t you know it, she puts her head down for you to caress her neck,” notes an ACC volunteer. “And then she leans into it, as if to say, ‘yes, right there, that’s it, just keep giving me those nice neck rubs.’”
Elect to adopt Corri at ACC’s Brooklyn Care Center, 2336 Linden Boulevard!
You can also meet your new best friend at ACC’s Mobile Adoption Center, which travels throughout the city. (Note: dates and locations are subject to change. Information will be updated as quickly as possible. Also check http://nycacc.org/Events.htm)
