Man Tried To Lure 13-Year-Old Girl Away From Queens Home, Police Say

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD is searching for a man who attempted to lure a 13-year-old away from her home while she was waiting for a school bus in Queens earlier this month.

According to police, the girl was waiting for the bus on 41st Avenue and 81st Street in Elmhurst on Oct. 6 when the suspect tried to lure the girl away from her home.

The girl got on to the school bus when it arrived at the location, police said. The suspect then fled in an unknown direction, police said.

No injuries were reported.

The NYPD describes the suspect as a 20 to 25-year-old man, standing around 5'8" and weighing around 140 pounds. Police say the suspect was last seen wearing a black jacket with white stripes down the sleeves.
