Candidates Spend Final Weekend Of Campaign Stumping In Swing States

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump spent the final weekend of the campaign stumping for votes in key swing states.

Not even a downpour could dampen Clinton's enthusiasm as she hit battleground states in the homestretch of the election.

"I want to be the president for everybody -- everybody who agrees with me, people who don't agree with me, people who vote for me, people who don't vote for me," she said.

The rain-soaked rally in Florida stood in stark contrast to the celebrity fueled "Get Out The Vote" concert in Cleveland on Friday night, featuring Beyonce and Jay-Z. The mega stars urged the crowd to vote for Clinton. As did Katy Perry at a concert in Philadelphia on Saturday night.

Meanwhile, Trump boasted he doesn't have any stars on the campaign trail with him.

"We don't need Jay-Z to fill up arenas. We do it the old fashioned way," he said.

Trump continued to hammer home a message to his crowds that Clinton's email scandal proves she is unfit for the White House.

"Take a look at the email mess. How about if she's running the country? She can't even run an email," he said.

The Republican has been logging a lot of miles on his plane with stops in critical states of Florida, North Carolina, Nevada and Colorado.

"I'm going to be doing five or six of these every day. You need energy here, folks. She goes home and she goes to sleep," he said.

At a rally in Reno, Nevada on Saturday night, Trump was rushed off the stage by the Secret Service.

A new survey out Saturday night shows Clinton and Trump in a nearly even race just days before the election.

The McClatchy-Marist poll puts Clinton ahead with 44 percent support, and Trump behind by just one percent.

Libertarian Gary Johnson has 6 percent, while Green Party candidate Jill Stein is polling at 2 percent.
