Watch: 'Brigitte Quinn's 22 Minutes' With Padma Lakshmi

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- In this installment of "22 Minutes," 1010 WINS anchor Brigitte Quinn sits down with Padma Lakshmi, foodie, model and longtime host of Bravo TV's "Top Chef."

Padma stopped by to talk about her new book "The Encyclopedia Of Spices & Herbs."

Learn more about why Padma says, "Just as a good sorceress needs her book of spells, so too does a good cook need a compendium of seasonings."

Padma also has advice for those afraid to use spices, when to throw them away, and discusses the one thing you can do that's healthy.

Emmy-nominated Padma Lakshmi is internationally known as an actress, food expert, model, and award-winning author, as well as the recipient of the 2016 NECO Ellis Island Medal of Honor. Lakshmi was nominated for an Emmy Award for her role as host and judge on Bravo's Emmy award-winning Top Chef, where she also serves as an executive producer.  The show has just filmed it's 14th season.

Brigitte anchors mornings at 1010 WINS radio and has worked in broadcasting for more than thirty years.  She was a TV anchor at the Fox News Channel, MSNBC and NBC. She holds an MFA in writing from Sarah Lawrence College and a BS from Cornell University. Her first novel, "Anchored" was published in 2015.
