Police Search Suspect In Rockville Center Bank Robbery

ROCKVILLE CENTER, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police in Nassau County are searching for a man who allegedly robbed a bank in Rockville Center Friday afternoon.

According to authorities, a black male suspect entered the Capital One Bank on Lincoln Avenue just before 1 p.m. Friday.

He then approached the teller and demanded money by threatening to use a firearm, but no firearm was seen according to police.

The teller complied with his demands before the male fled on food in an eastbound direction with an undetermined amount of money, according to police.

The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 45 and 50, between 5'9" and 5'10," and approximately 160 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a dark colored hat, a green long sleeved shirt, green pants, round framed eyeglasses with thick lenses, a dark colored scarf, and dark shoes.

Police request anyone with information regarding this crime to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.  All callers will remain anonymous.
