12/4 CBS2 Sunday Evening Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- It was a beautiful finish to the weekend - albeit on the crisp side! Seasonably cool temps & sunny skies will give way to a cold & cloudy night...with some wintry precip on the way! Expect low temps in the 20s & 30s overnight as we await a mix of rain & snow.

Make sure to take extra time if you're out on the roads tomorrow morning. Some snow will fall over the north & west portions of the Tri-State Area, with the best bets for accumulations north of I-84.

When it's all said & done we could get 1-2" in the higher elevations far away from NYC...with a coating to 1" in much of northern/western NJ & the Lower Hudson Valley...with rain & some wet flakes for the City & the coasts. Overall, not a major storm but enough to slow down your morning. Things dry out by lunchtime and we'll get mostly sunny skies with temps in the upper 40s.

Tuesday will start off with a sun & cloud mix but there will be another storm system that approaches late in the evening. Again, there is a chance of some wet snow far north & west, but minimal accumulations again.
