Trump Attends Annual Army-Navy Football Game

BALTIMORE (CBSNewYork/AP) -- President-elect Donald Trump attended the Army-Navy football game Saturday, even joining CBS Sports announcers in the broadcast booth.

Earlier in the day, Trump sent a tweet, saying he was going as a show of support for the country's armed forces.

He spent the first quarter inside the box of a West Point graduate and planned to spend the second half in the box of retired Marine Lt. Col. Oliver North.

During halftime, Trump joined CBS Sports' Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson.

"Love the armed forces, love the folks, the spirit is so incredible," he said. "I mean, I don't know if it's necessarily the best football, but it's very good, but boy do they have spirit, more than anybody, it's beautiful."

Saturday's game marked the 117th annual battle between the rivaled U.S. Military Academy's Black Knights and the U.S. Naval Academy's Navy Midshipmen.
