Sacred Scroll Worth $70,000 Stolen From New Jersey School

LAKEWOOD, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- The search is on for two people wanted for stealing a sacred scroll from a school in New Jersey, police said.

The theft happened Friday night at the Cheder Torah Zev school in Lakewood.

Investigators say two suspects got into the building through an unlocked door and walked out with a safe containing the scroll, valued at $70,000.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for the return of the scroll, or information leading to the return of the scroll.
