NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Police have arrested a man who they said set his apartment on fire in the Bronx.

It happened just before 4 a.m. Thursday on Park Avenue in Concourse Village.

Officers were trying to reach the emotionally disturbed man who they say was threatening suicide. But they say he barricaded himself inside his fifth floor apartment and allegedly started the fire.

Firefighters were able to knock the flames down before it spread to other apartments. No one was hurt.
