You won’t find any Vanilla Fields in this scent boutique. Perfumer Christopher Brosius creates some of the most unique you’ll find anywhere. Scents like In the Library and WINTER 1972 are more than a pleasant scent, they’re an wearable memory. Brosius also makes custom scents, although his website states that he’s currently not accepting new clients for this service.

This shop is all about luxury, from the deep red walls to the massive chandelier, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to another era when you step into this West Village perfume and beauty store. Aedes de Venustas specializes in imported and hard to find products. The owners of this little shop know their products and will treat you to VIP treatment in your search for the perfect scent. They also give out samples if you need some thinking time with a scent.

Francophiles will love this place. This French perfumery has been concocting delicious scents since 1760. In that time period, this family owned perfumery has created custom scents for such societal elite as Queen Victoria, to most recently Michelle Obama. Gents, no worries they have cologne and aftershave lines for you as well.

Everything about this store screams “I Love New York.” Well, at least everything about the perfumes. Each scent bottled up inside is designed and named with a certain New York neighborhood in mind.
