A group of people was arrested Wednesday night for allegedly tagging the 5Pointz Building in Long Island City, Queens, two nights after the street art mecca was whitewashed – according to a published report.
For the past 20 years, graffiti artists have been allowed to use the building as a canvas, but last month the owners got the city’s permission to tear 5 Pointz down and build 800 luxury condos and 200 affordable units.
It’s a busy day for the New York City Council.
It’s cool and colorful, but it soon may be condemned. The landmark covered with graffiti art could face the wrecking ball.
If you’re going to be spending time indoors, make the most of a rainy day and hit up one of New York City’s many museums.
