Police said 19-year-old Aaron Thomas had left his car parked in the safety zone of the expressway to buy gas on Commack Road and was struck while returning to his vehicle.
It was definitely the same man raping women and girls along the East Coast, the attacks spanning from Connecticut to Virginia and growing more horrific as year after year passed. Investigators just didn’t know who it was.
What went into catching the ‘East Coast Rapist’ suspect?
Aaron Thomas, 39, wore sunglasses and a baseball cap as he appeared in New Haven Superior Court in Connecticut on a charge of raping a woman in 2007 in her New Haven home in front of her baby.
On Saturday, Police said DNA confirmed Aaron Thomas, an unemployed truck driver, was the East Coast Rapist, suspected in attacks on at least 17 women.
