American Athletic Conference
College football’s regular season is coming down the final stretch, which means it is crunch time in the conference and division championship races. Not every team is playing for a spot in the College Football Playoff, but everybody seems to have some impact on the new postseason format.
Mo’ne isn’t in high school and under NCAA rules is not considered a prospective athlete. But UConn says it is investigating to determine if any violation occurred.
Moore, a 5’9” point guard from Winona Lake, Ind., is playing as well as anyone in the American Athletic Conference right now. He leads his team with 14.1 points and 4.7 assists per game.
Notre Dame finished 8-4 this season, but had no bowl affiliation this year. The spot in the Pinstripe Bowl was open because the Big 12 did not have enough Bowl-eligible teams.
The Irish will be making their fourth straight bowl appearance and will play an American Athletic Conference opponent.
UCLA’s Travis Wear could return for the Bruins’ third game of the year on November 18 against Sacramento State, according to UCLA coach Steve Alford.
Gary Nova threw a 33-yard touchdown pass to Leonte Carroo on a fourth-and-10 play with 35 seconds to go.
“We need guys to step up, we need to have four or five double-figure scorers,” Jordan said. “We need to put points on the board, whether it’s creating stuff off defense or a very disciplined offense. It’s their time.”

Rutgers has one more chance to get to the BCS and win a conference title before the former becomes impossible and the latter much more difficult.
The advantage that the American has over leagues like the Atlantic 10 and the Big East is that this conference has three teams — Louisville, Memphis, and UConn — that all should be ranked in the Top 25 for the majority of the season.
LeGrand and his No. 52 will be honored in a ceremony Sept. 14 when Rutgers plays at home against Eastern Michigan. It will be the first number retired in the history of the program.
It’s safe to say this league will have at least five teams in the NCAA Tournament, but anything more than that depends on what happens elsewhere.
