Broadway Joe looked the part. Joe Namath, New York football royalty as MVP of the third Super Bowl for the Jets, wore a fur coat for the coin toss.
“No, I don’t think they needed a quarterback,” Namath said. “They needed the other positions filled. Possibly offensive line. They got some defensive line. The safeties are still questionable. The outside linebackers are still questionable.”
“I’m concerned with how the Jets are trying to build a team and win a championship,” Namath said. “They seem more interested in the headlines.”
Rex Ryan isn’t too pleased with Joe Namath’s opinion that the Jets coach is making his team overconfident. “I’m not going to change who I am because Joe Namath said something,” Ryan said.
