Capturing The Friedmans
Friedman and his father, Arnold Friedman, pleaded guilty in 1988 to abusing 13 children during a computer class that the elder Friedman taught at their Great Neck home.
Despite the hearing, the Nassau County district attorney’s office said Wednesday it remains confident Friedman’s conviction will be upheld.
Jesse Friedman, the former Long Island man who pleaded guilty in a notorious 1980s sex abuse case, alleged Thursday that prosecutors defamed him to look like a “bad guy.”
The review was prompted after the 2003 Oscar-nominated documentary “Capturing the Friedmans” questioned whether Jesse Friedman had been wrongfully prosecuted.
Friedman, who is married, served 13 years in prison for the sexual abuse but was freed when the case was reopened. He appeared in State Supreme Court in Mineola Tuesday as continues his quest to clear his name.
