City Councilman Jumaane Williams said outer borough homicide cases have fewer detectives assigned to them than do killings in Manhattan. Williams said the NYPD is looking into it.
It’s a proposal that could make Brooklyn a bit more mellow, a push to prevent large and unruly gatherings by forcing people to get permission to party.
Police were on alert in Brooklyn Tuesday night following violence stemming from a deadly officer-involved shooting, as crowds gathered again to protest for a second night in a row.
“The fact of the matter is that 96 percent of shooting victims are people of color, yet the community leaders are not speaking out about this. We’d like to hear from them,” Kelly said.
