Conflicts Of Interest Board
Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz is fighting back after the Conflicts of Interest Board recently slapped him with the largest fine in its history.
The borough president warned that the ruling meant future mayors and other city elected officials would be unable to bring their spouses on official business overseas, unless they could afford to pay for it themselves.
The New York City Conflicts of Interest Board said both Marty Markowitz and chief of staff Carlo Scissura acknowledged that their conduct violated the city’s conflicts of interest law.
New York Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly has failed to report that his expenses at the Harvard Club have been covered by a private foundation for the past eight years.
