Dangerous Blue-Green Algae Turn Long Island Waterways Toxic

Out of control algae have become a serious problem in Suffolk County, and experts said the build-up has turned some of the waterways toxic.

Bacteria Blamed For Dog’s Death Could Pose Health Hazard To Humans As Well

A test showed that he was filled with cyanobacteria. The contaminated water tested positive for Blue-Green Algae, the same type of algae has made a new home for itself in parts of Southampton.
