As the Knicks reach the one-month anniversary of his arrival, Carmelo Anthony says New York’s struggles weren’t a surprise, and he still believes there is time for the team to get past them.
Peter Vecsey was blasted for saying on this station that the Knicks were a .500 team with Carmelo Anthony. He was wrong. They’re worse.
The Knicks have struggled in a big way following their blockbuster trade for Carmelo Anthony, capped by Monday night’s bloody 96-86 loss to the Boston Celtics. Donnie Walsh wants the world to know that if there’s blame to go around, it falls on him.
Donnie Walsh doesn’t know if he is wanted back by the Knicks, and apparently now is not the time to ask him about it. “None of your d— business,” Walsh snapped before New York’s 131-109 win over the Utah Jazz.
There has been much written regarding Donnie Walsh’s questionable fate with the Knicks. Now there is growing speculation surrounding Mike D’Antoni’s future with the club.
The Knicks have waived guard Kelenna Azubuike, who never played for the team while recovering from major knee surgery. The move opens a roster spot for a team that is looking to add size.
Donnie Walsh admitted that he had no idea talks between the Nets and the Jazz were even going on, which raises the question: would the Knicks have been better off pursuing Deron Williams?
Of course the Knicks had to pull the trigger on a Carmelo Anthony trade. But questions surrounding the trade remain; mainly, did the Knicks have to give up so much?
Knicks president Donnie Walsh admitted Thursday he didn’t know the Utah Jazz were involved in talks to deal Deron Williams. “No, I didn’t. I really didn’t,” Walsh said.
For the second day in a row, the Tri-State area welcomed a superstar to the local NBA mix. Deron Williams managed to impress during his introductory press conference Thursday, despite being coy about his future with the club beyond 2012.
Frank Isola of the Daily News joined Marc Malusis on Thursday to talk about Isiah Thomas’ alleged involvement in the Carmelo Anthony trade, and what he described as “spin control” by Knicks owner James Dolan.
According to MSG chairman James Dolan, reports that Isiah Thomas was involved in the Knicks’ pursuit of Carmelo Anthony were “a fiction in somebody’s mind.”
There’s no question that Isiah Thomas has James Dolan’s ear. For some unfathomable reason, Dolan still trusts Isiah’s decision making and basketball acumen.
Its official… All the physicals are complete and the league has given their stamp of approval. Say it with me – Carmelo Anthony is officially a member of the New York Knicks.
Donnie Walsh could have played hardball, but what if the Nets found a way to get it done? What if Thursday came and went and the Knicks didn’t have ‘Melo? This city would be in an uproar.
