The Minnesota Timberwolves won the NBA draft lottery Tuesday night, the first time since 2004 the team with the worst record won the No. 1 pick.
Zach LaVine made the tying and go-ahead free throws with 10.7 seconds left and scored six of his 20 points in overtime as the Minnesota Timberwolves outlasted the New York Knicks 95-92.
Talk about a big winner. In addition to landing the top overall selection that will wind up being Kentucky big man Anthony Davis, the Hornets also have the tenth overall pick.
The New Orleans Hornets will get their pick of the litter in next month’s NBA draft. The league’s lottery wasn’t nearly as kind to Brooklyn.
