Neighbors have buried 15-year-old Awsaf Alvi Islam, who died after hurtling onto a New York City sidewalk when a motorcycle collided with a vehicle carrying Lakers star Lamar Odom.
Prosecutors say a baby girl found in a trash can last week was declared dead Wednesday and a grand jury will now consider upgrading charges against the child’s 23-year-old mother.
Authorities said a woman — believed to be in her 20s — gave birth inside Elmhurst Hospital, put the baby in the trash can and then walked out around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Police are still searching for a man wanted for an assault near a Queens subway station that happened earlier this month.
Authorities said a preliminary investigation determined the 30-year-old Sanitation worker drifted into oncoming traffic on Grand Street and Bushwick Avenue in East Williamsburg.
The accident occurred at 9:35 a.m. on Queens Boulevard in Elmhurst. Emergency crews arrived on the scene a minute later and transported all the victims to Elmhurst Hospital.
The woman accused of a tossing a 2-year-old boy off a seventh floor balcony in Queens is being held without bail.
