A homeless man has been arrested and charged with the murder of a Newark woman whose body was found in the Passaic River last week.
Officials said three people were wounded, one critically, and one person was killed after the shooter walked into L.C.’s Place on 18th Avenue just after 10 a.m. and opened fire.
The death of a longtime Democratic Party official whose decomposed body was found in his Newark home this week has been ruled a homicide.
The incident began around 10 p.m. when Irvington Police spotted a vehicle that had been carjacked earlier in the day, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office says 35-year-old Ania Marcinkiewicz is charged with aggravated assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
The remains were found near Raymond Boulevard and Van Buren Street not far from Penn Station.
