Excessive Heat Warning
Saturday tied for the hottest day of the year in 2012, maxing out at 95 degrees in midtown Manhattan. The figure fell short of the 100-degree record in the city, which was set only two years ago.
While the all-time record of 106 degrees wasn’t reached, residents in the Tri-State were left sweating it out as the mercury soared.
Teterboro, N.J., reached 100 degrees and Central Park hit a high of 97. With the humidity factored in, the 97-degree temperature in Central Park actually felt like 109 degrees.
The next three days are expected to see temperatures in the middle to upper 90’s. AccuWeather RealFeel temps could hit 105 to 110 degrees each afternoon.
Forecasters say temperatures and humidity will combine to make it feel like it’s in the mid-90s.
