Officials: Beached Whale Near Breezy Point Has Died

The 60-foot-long finback whale was found in grave condition stranded on the bay side of Breezy Point around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

A finback whale that washed up dead on a New York beach likely was killed when it was hit by a passing ship.
