Reginald Johnson scored 15 points and added two late critical defensive plays to lead Hampton to a 74-64 victory over Manhattan in the First Four on Tuesday night.
Evans scored 22 points, including two clinching free throws with 12.6 seconds left, to lead the Great Danes to their first NCAA tournament victory, 71-64 over Mount St. Mary’s in the First Four.
The Mount St. Mary’s Mountaineers like to run and shoot threes. The Great Danes, winners of the American East, prefer to pound it inside.

Lamont Jones has played against BYU twice before. But he only remembers one player — one no longer even with the Cougars.
