Five Boro Bike Tour
As the Five Boro Bike Tour continues to grow in size, it seems many taxi and delivery drivers, who once considered the event a headache because it closes off major thoroughfares, have grown to accept it.
Sunday’s bike tour will mean it will be tough for people to get around the city on four wheels.
Sections of the FDR Drive, the Brooklyn Queens Expressway, and the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge will be affected. Road closures will be in effect from 6:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.
A bike expo was held Friday and Saturday in advance of the Five Boro Bike Tour, and plenty of people were making a point of showing support for Boston.
The Five Boro Bike Tour, the New Jersey Marathon and the Long Island Marathon will all take place on Sunday. In an effort to keep participants and spectators safe, organizers from each event have stepped up their security measures.
