As CBS2 reported, gender lines are blurring and men seem to be embracing wearing skirts and high heels and getting manicures and facials.
In a letter to the Empire State Pride Agenda dated Tuesday, Cuomo said transgender people face significant discrimination, citing surveys that show three-fourths of transgender New Yorkers experience workplace harassment or mistreatment.
Proposed New York state legislation would protect gender identity or expression from discrimination, and subject any violator to a potential hate crime prosecution.
The bill would include “gender identity or expression” as a protected characteristic along with race, national origin, sex and other attributes under current state law. It now moves to the Senate.
