Officially A Killer Storm: 5 Dead In Connecticut, Travel Ban Lifted

A travel ban was lifted in Connecticut after 24 hours of orders to stay off the roads, but cleanup was far from over Saturday afternoon following the blizzard that left more than 3 feet of snow in some parts of the state.

Connecticut Officials Prepare For ‘Catastrophic’ Weather Event

Gov. Malloy has again urged shoreline residents to heed his evacuation order. He declared a state of emergency on Saturday. Malloy said Sandy is forecast to cause more flooding damage than the state saw in the devastating hurricane of 1938.

Two deaths in Connecticut were being attributed to Tropical Storm Irene, which knocked out power to more than 700,000 utility customers and swept some shorefront homes into the sea.
