Seven people are facing charges in New York City after authorities seized over $2 million worth of fake designer bags, watches, sunglasses, clothes and other goods.
Authorities conducted a major bust of counterfeit bags, watchers and sunglasses Wednesday afternoon at a small store in Lower Manhattan.
The sport, while not necessarily thriving today, is at least hanging on. And its premier event for three-year-olds, The 87th Hambletonian, goes off Saturday with its $1.5 million purse and an uncommonly deep 10-horse field.
U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman said the counterfeit goods didn’t include just clothing, but “counterfeit cigarettes and pure crystal methamphetamine.”
