While the images of the earthquake and tsunami devastation in Japan are fresh in the minds of many Americans, some groups are still at work to help the people of Haiti, the Caribbean nation still recovering from its deadly quake in January 2010.

Haitian Girl To Have Heart Surgery On Quake Anniversary

While the earthquake in Haiti a year ago destroyed the house of 15-year-old Lovely Ajuste, the disaster may have also brought her a new heart.

NYC’s Haiti Response Praised Ahead Of Quake Anniversary

On Sunday, Mayor Bloomberg said city employees had donated more than $2.2 million to the cause. He also reiterated more needed to be done to aid the recovery.
