Mets outfielder Jordany Valdespin has been suspended 50 games by Major League Baseball for his ties to the Biogenesis of America clinic. Valdespin will accept the 50-game ban without an appeal.
Ike Davis might not be the only Met in danger of being demoted. According to a report, shortstop Ruben Tejada and outfielder Jordany Valdespin aren’t exactly on safe ground.
Valdespin knew that there was a very good chance that he would get hit. And in an effort to avoid getting plunked, the 25-year-old told manager Terry Collins — through trainer Ray Ramirez — that he was unavailable to hit, a source told the New York Daily News.
